VICTORIA HORTON, founder

Victoria has been writing professionally for over 25 years as part of her career in business management consulting.  At age 10, Victoria wrote and illustrated her first children's book. Though it was never published, it's meaning and tone reflect that of The One You Feed Foundation.  In 2011, Vitoria self-published her award winning book, The One You Feed, designed to assist in the development of key character traits in children.  After writing the book, Victoria's vision for the concept expanded and she formed The One You Feed Foundation which sponsors youth character development programs around the United States.

Victoria loves working with children and has a Bachelors of Science Degree in Secondary Education and a Masters of Public Administration degree from Cleveland State University.  She is a Senior Director with Altus Group (formerly SC&H Group) and leads the firm's global site selection and incentives practice. As a site selection consultant, Victoria assists her corporate clients with location strategy, community evaluation, site selection, real estate negotiation, and economic development inventive negation and collection.  

Above all, Victoria is a proud and devoted parent and aunt, a dedicated and loyal friend, and the kind of person that "kids, dogs, and old people" love. 

DAVE COCKEY, position

David has an undergraduate degree in accounting and economics from Towson University, an MBA from the University of Maryland, and is a Certified Public Accountant.  Now, at age 30, David  is a manager in the Location & Incentive Strategy Consulting Group for Altus. He has over seven years of professional experience in location strategy consulting and execution, economic development negotiations, real estate financial modeling, property tax, and project management across a range of industries. 

Outside of his professional career, David is the author and main character in The Little Tycoon Series, and children's book series teaching young minds about all aspects of money.  He also serves as the Chief Cookie Taster at VanDough's Cookies, the company he co-owns with his wife, Christina. 

David was born in Maryland where he lived for 26 years until he moved to Charlotte, NC and met his wife Christina.  He now resides in Mt. Pleasant, SC.

CINDY HUGHES, position

Cindy is a Georgia native, graduate of Emory University and Georgia State University (M.A.), and a former high school English teacher. During a period "retirement" where she left teaching to run the Hughes household, she co-chaired a capital campaign to construct a new sanctuary for Due West United Methodist Church and became Chairwoman of the Due West Trustees. 

Since coming out of "retirement", Cindy has successfully acquired and oversees a College Soccer Prep Camp where she helps young women connect with college coaches and realize their dreams.  She also co-chaired a capital campaign for Mt. Paran Christian School raising $16.5 MM. Now, Cindy is turning her attention to leading project to find adaptive re-uses for historic buildings in downtown Kennesaw. 

From her work as a high school teacher to other community projects, Cindy's primary passion is helping young girls and women overcome their self-esteem issues and realize their true potential.
